Son of Howard Jefferson Walter(s) and Edith (nee Mumma.) Brother of Helen Maggitti, Dorothy Rutkowski and Edith Catania, Elsie Peacock and Howard (Harry) Walters. Loving father to Mark and Alicia. John served his country as a member of the United States Army during WWII in Puerto Rico and Iceland. He later worked for the Maryland State Highway Administration as an electrician and retired after 20+ years of service.

John was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Old 10th Ward, the VFW and was an active member of the Pascal Senior Center where he enjoyed playing pool. John was an avid trading card collector and enjoyed trying to get his cards autographed. He was very computer savy, enjoyed constructing model airplanes and also completing jigsaw puzzles. John also enjoyed feeding the squirrels and birds. He passed away from advanced prostate cancer.
