Emmy was 16 when she married Christopher Columbus (Dick) Goode. Dick had been married previously to Emmy's cousin Mary "Molly" Rose daughter to Alfred Alexander Rose, the older brother of Samuel. Molly died in February 1883 and Dick married Emmy on the 22 of February 1885. He was 28 years old when they wed. They would have no children. Aunt Emmy would suffer from severe athritis all of her adult life, spending most of it in a wheel chair. Dick would die in 1926 and Aunt Emmy lived until 1937, being taken care of by her younger sister Mattie Rose after Dick's death.
He was the son of John M and Rhoda Goode.
