Rev. Ninian Holmes was the son of Abraham and Sarah (O'Neal) Holmes. He was the 1st husband of Harriet Elizabeth (Newkirk) Holmes Dolsen. Harriet died October 30, 1854. Rev. Holmes was a minister in the New York Conference and Genesee (Western New York/now Upper New York) Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church 1810 In Canada during the War of 1812, Ceased traveling about 1814.
