Edna McDougall, 90, of Sebring, died May 4, 2004, in Sebring.

Born in Mariposa, Calif., she had been a resident of Sebring since 1997, coming from Robbinsville, N.C.

She was a missionary. She joined Sudan Interior Mission in 1936 and retired in 1976. She worked in Niamey, Niger; was missions secretary at the Church of the Open Door; and was a proofreader for the Lockman Foundation. She was a member of the Church of the Open Door in California and attended Southside Baptist Church in Sebring.

Survivors include her sons, Bill of Andrew, N.C., Murray of Los Angeles, Calif., Donald of LaCrescenta, Calif. and Colin Sr. of Robbinsville, N.C.; daughter, Janet of Robbinsville, N.C.; 16 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 2 p.m. today at S.I.M. Chapel in Sebring. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at S.I.M., with the Rev. Donald McDougall and the Rev. David Altman officiating. Family also will receive friends at 6:30 p.m. today in the S.I.M. Fellowship Hall. Interment will be in Pinecrest Cemetery in Sebring.


Note - Was married to Stewart Minto McDougall who was a missionary. He was born in Branden, Canada, June 15, 1910. He became a naturalized citizen July 24, 1964 in the US District Court, Los Angeles, CA. Stewart died February 11, 1966 in Cotonou, Dahomey and is reported to be buried in Parakou, Dahomey. Cause of death listed as drowning.
