She, along with her husband and children, came to California in 1959 and settled in Fallbrook in 1964. She loved the cruise ships and made over 30 cruises. She was always engaged in children's activities, and also served on the School Board. She retired from the School District as secretary to the superintendent.
Burial will be at the Riverside National Cemetery.

It's the little reminders of Grandma that will be forever etched into my mind- a Kleenex in every pocket, the smell of Jergen's lotion, reheated coffee forgotten in the microwave, a crossword puzzle always nearby, and the sound of her humming along to Lawerence Welk on Saturday night.
But it's her laugh, her joy, her hugs, her compassion, and her unfailing love that will forever be etched into my heart. There are few like her, with a heart capable of such unconditional love. It is something we never questioned, something she did with seemingly no effort. Without her saying a word, we knew she loved us. We have all inherited a little bit of Grandma, she is part of all of us, and that is an inheritance that can't ever be lost or broken. Her love and memory will continue to remain alive in and through us.
After 70 years of marriage, she and Grandpa had a love that rivaled all others. They were so dedicated to each other and have given us all an example to live by.
As we gather today and mourn the loss of our beloved wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma, may we also be grateful for the many years that we were blessed with her presence and that we were chosen to be hers. This life is fleeting and I take great comfort in knowing that soon we will all be together again.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
John 11:25 I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in me shall live even though he dies.
Proverbs 31 Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all." Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Rosie's dad cut the following poem out of a newspaper for her many years ago. She had recently written it in a notebook that she kept next to her chair. It seems the poem was written about her-
When in those well-remembered years
She saw her little child in tears
She dropped all else in haste to go
To learn what had hurt him so
Today to him the thought occurs
The pain she feared was his not hers
At her own stings of hurt she smiled
But could not stand them in her child
By day and night throughout the years
He was the source of all her fears
Hurt was to her a terror grim
Only as it might come to him
And so with mothers everywhere
What falls to them they bravely bear
Yet live in fear lest harm befall
Their children whether grown or small
One hymn that she particularly liked was "The Old Rugged Cross" so we will play a version from the Lawrence Welk show.
In Rosie's notebook, we also found a prayer that she had written. I will close with her words-
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today with humble hearts and open minds, ready to bask in the blessings you've bestowed upon each and everyone of us. We've each had our struggles, but here, surrounded by our family and your love, we can focus on what we have to be thankful for. We are grateful for each other and for the forgiveness you offer each of us. You see the truth of our hearts, and you love us, and we are grateful. In Jesus name, Amen.
