Mrs. Boen, 65, wife of Erick T. Boen, died at her home in Aurdal on Saturday, May 27,1893.
She was born in Aurdal volders, Norway, on June 28, 1828. In company with her husband she came to America in 1876. settling in Aurdal, this county, to which place several of their children had preceded them. She had been married about 45 years and had raised a family of nine children, six boys and three girls. Tron and Haldor, the congressman, were twins.
Tron died at the age of 17. The others are all alive, the following sons living in Aurdal, Erick, Anners, Johan, Anton, Sigrid, Mrs. A. A. Bergrud, the oldest daughter, also lives in Aurdal, Annie, now Mrs. Ronning, lives in Dane Prairie, while Miss Tonetta, the unmarried daughter, is engaged in the register of deeds office.
Mrs. Boen, while in poor health for many years has been a woman of indomitable will and very active. She was confined to her bed during her last illness less than a week.
The funeral occurs Tuesday, May 30, at 2 p.m. at her late home. Rev. Fosmark, of whose church she was a member, officiates.
The remains will be interred in the Aurdal cemetary.
