***** I have heard lots of great things about Van. He is loved and missed very much by my grandma, his sister Grace Warner. Each year as we visit him she still gets very emotional. It would have been a great honor to have met him, a man that was so proud to fight for his country, who died too soon. He will live in our hearts forever. We are proud of you VAN…
Terri Warner

***** Van and I went through basic training in Fort Bliss, Texas, together. After completing Basic Training we were sent to Fort Polk, LA., for our advanced training. We were assigned to the same squad, same platoon and company with the 9th Infantry Division, in Vietnam. I was there, when he was killed. We fought side, by side, many times.

My dear Brother
Van was my older brother, didn't really get to know him, but anybody out there who knew him or have pictures please, let me know. would like to know more, about him and share, his experience, with my kids and grandkids.

**** Though your death caused much pain, you did not die in vain. I will never forget 6-1-68, or the many other days prior to that when we had good times and bad. A few of us got together several years ago, and you kept coming up in the conversation. I appreciate the honor of having known you and fought with you. I want the world, and all who have known you, to know that you are are hero and I pray that your family tells their children what a great man you are. I have been looking for your grave site, and when I find it, I will visit, and hopefullly be able to tell your family what a hero you are. God bless you and your family.
