Funeral services for Rulon Van Noy Osmond, 87, will be Saturday, Sept 1, 2001, at 11 a.m. in the Hyde Park Stake Center, 535 East 200 South, Hyde Park UT. Burial will follow in the Afton Cemetery at 3 p.m.
Rulon Van Noy Osmond, 87, died Aug 29, 2001.
He was born June 22, 1914, in Thayne to Rulon and Agnes LaVerna Van Noy Osmond. He married Norma Kennington, Sept 29, 1937 in the Logan Temple.
There were few jobs that Rulon hadn't tried form the oil field to a taxi cab driver. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, after which he bought a farm in Freedom WY.
Five children were born into his family, Rulon Robert, Alonzo Richard, Vern Jay, Darlene and Blaine Lee. He has 25 grandchildren 36 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Rulon helped organize Cache Valley Breeding Association and was the manager at the time of his retirement in 1980.
Rulon was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many different capacities. He had a great love for his friends, neighbors and family.
Rulon is survived by his wife, four sons, one daughter, one brother, George V. Osmond, one sister Cora Thimmes and a great posterity.
His parents and one brother have preceded him in death.
