Fined for Bootlegging
MADISON, Neb., Nov. 27-Albert Zessin, better known as "Rusty" Zessin, was caught by Chief of Police Ray early this morning with three cases of whisky and was placed under arrest. He was arraigned this morning before County Judge McDuffee for Bootlegging, pleaded guilty and was fined $200 and his automobile confiscated. There has been evidence of plenty of booze and bootlegging in Madison and vicinity for some time and the nefarious business appears to have been operated by an organized gang of which "Rusty" is one. The deplorable feature is that such flagrant disregard of law and decency could be carried on so long, openly and successfully without interference on the part of county and local officials whose duty is to safe-guard the public against such outrages.
