Born in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Charles Andrews was a Baptist minister. Amongst the churches where he presided were Huntsville First Baptist Church and Madisonville First Baptist, as well as Rockdale, Texas and Van Nuys, California. He married Annis Speed of Mississippi. They had 13 children including actors Dana Andrews and Steve Forrest. The other children were: Wilton, Harlan, Charles, Ralph, Hazel, Margaret, Evelyn, David, John, Mary and Katherine.
