She was born on March 26, 1927, in Glendower, Virginia, the daughter of the late Emmet M. McCormick and Fanny Staples McCormick. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glen Austin Baldridge; a son, Perry Neal Baldridge; her stepmother, Irena Norvelle McCormick; three brothers, Emmet B. "Brack" McCormick, Thomas S. McCormick Sr. and Franklin L. McCormick; four step-brothers, Fred T. Norvelle, Leroy A. Norvelle, Alwyn Norvelle, Charles E. Staples; and a stepsister, Helen Mallary.
Kathryn retired from Centel as a Telephone Operator after 36 years of service.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy B. Thompson and her husband, Tommy, of Ruckersville; two brothers, Francis E. "Jack" McCormick and his wife, Shirley, of Keswick, Hansford O. "Mac" McCormick and his wife, Jennie, of Charlottesville; a stepbrother, Augustus W. "Gus" Norvelle and his wife, Velma, of Charlottesville; and two beloved grandchildren, J. Eric Thompson of New York and Ashley N. Thompson of Ruckersville.
A funeral service was conducted Thursday, August 5, 2010, at Northside Baptist Church with the Reverend Keith Johnson officiating.
The family received friends at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home.
