Jennings took part in some of the first tank battles of WWII involving American tanks. He became a Prisoner of War on April 9, 1942 and took part in the death march. He was held, as a POW, at Camp O'Donnell and Cabanatuan. Jennings died of beriberi & malaria at Cabanatuan.
After the war, his remains were returned home.
