He was the husband of Judith Ann (Jordan) Hemminger who died in 2008. They were married for 47 years. Born in Hinsdale, IL, he graduated college in Chicago, IL and served in the U. S. Navy during WW II. Donald lived in Attleboro, MA for 18 years and moved to Falmouth in 1988. He worked as an electrical engineer in the Radio, TV and electronics industry for Halicrafters in Illinois and Federal Products in Rhode Island until his retirement.
Donald was an avid reader and enjoyed tinkering with electronics.
He is survived by two daughters Vicki Raia and her husband Michael of Wrentham, MA and Karen L. Hemminger of Wilson, NC, two grandchildren Alexandra and Daniel Raia of Wrentham, a brother Ralph Hemminger of AZ, and a sister Ellie Mathias of IL.
A Visiting Hour will be Monday, Aug. 9, from 11:30 to 12:30 PM at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main St. (Rt. 28) Falmouth Center. A Funeral Home Service will follow at 12:30. Burial will be at the V. A. National Cemetery of Massachusetts in Bourne.
