Services for Hesta Lee Reynolds Deslatte will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2007 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverend T. W. Terral and Reverend Greg Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Deslatte, 83, of Pineville passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2007 in her residence where she lived for 53 years. She was born in Ruby, LA on September 21, 1923. She attended LaFargue School in Effie, LA. She was a member of Pineville Park Baptist Church where she was also in the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Deslatte was an avid gardener and loved to crochet, knit and cook. Her favorite hobbies were to can food and give it to others, visiting with people that came to her garage sales, and cultivating and sharing her flowers. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and will be missed by all who loved her. Mrs. Deslatte was employed by nursing homes before being hired at Pinecrest State School, where she retired in 1985 after 13 years of service as a Cottage Supervisor.

Mrs. Deslatte was preceded in death by her husband of 62 ½ years, Clifford Gabriel "Frenchie" Deslatte; parents, David and Ann Gray Reynolds; brothers, Monroe Reynolds of Ruby, LA, Alton Reynolds of Tioga, LA and Hersel Reynolds of Tioga, LA; sisters, Amy Kilmer of Ball, LA, Jackie Beene of Texarkana, TX, Vettie Knudsen of Pineville, LA and half-sister, Damie Sillavan of Ruby, LA.

Survivors include her sons, James E. Deslatte and his wife, Mary Ellen of Ball, LA, Clifford Leo Deslatte and his wife, Dianne of Pineville, LA; sister, Hazel Reynolds Corley of Tioga, LA; grandchildren, John Deslatte and Laura Deslatte of Ball, LA, Cliff Deslatte and wife, Claire of Winnfield, LA, Wesley Deslatte of Pineville, LA; one great-grandson, Brian Deslatte of Ball, LA; beloved friend who was like a daughter, Ruth Lucas Belgard of Pineville, LA, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives, neighbors, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Paul Johnson, Craig Sonnier, Dan Voorhies, Harold Corley, Glenn Corley and Al Bedoya.

Friends may call Friday at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until service time
