Eldon Fenn Irish began his military service on 9 March 1943, in Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas, USA, Branch: Air Corps, Grade: Private, Term of Enlistment: One year enlistment, Component: Reserves - exclusive of Regular Army Reserve and Officers of the Officers Reserve Corps on active duty under the Thomason Act (Officers and Enlisted Men -- O.R.C. and E.R.C., and Nurses-Reserve Status). He served as a First Lieutenant in the 389th Fighter Squadron, 366th Fighter Group and was awarded the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster. He was killed on 15 December 1945, after the war had ended. First lieutenant Eldon Fenn Irish Flew into a mountaintop while trying to climb out of dense clouds. Buried at Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, St. Avold, France.
