FOLEY, MARTIN, Private, No. 19717, 10th Battalion Canadian Expeditionary Force, son of James Foley, of Kilmurry, Kenmare, co. Kerry, Shoemaker, by his wife. Margaret; b. Killarney, co. Kerry, 15 June, 1874; educated there; went to Canada, 10 May, 1911, settled at Brandon, Manitoba, was a Butcher; enlisted, 4 Sept. 1914; went to France, 1 Feb. 1915, and was killed in action there, 21 May, 1915. He married at Kenmare, 2 Sept. 1902, Elizabeth, daughter of Timothy Callaghan, and had five children: James, b. 8 Sept. 1903; Timothy, b. 20 Sept. 1904; Mary Angela, b. 15 Sept. 1906; Margaret, b. 20 June, 1908; and Elizabeth, b. 10 April, 1911.
