Robert Palmer Monteith, an electrical engineer with the Virginia Electric & Power Company, died Monday night at his home, 2613 Lincoln Ave. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at SL Thomas Episcopal Church with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mr Monteith had been with the power company for about 13 years except for the time he served in the Navy during World War II. He worked at Williamson & Co. until about a year ago when he was transferred to the engineering department here. A native of Alleghany County, he was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and was a lieutenant in the Navy Reserve. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Frances Bates Monteith, a daughter Frances Chapman Monteith, his mother Mrs. James W Monteith and a sister Miss Nancy Randolph Monteith all of Richmond.
