OBITUARY

Robert L. Everroad, 86, of Columbus, died at 6:20 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at his residence.

Mr. Everroad was born on Aug. 29, 1923 in Columbus, the son of Joseph and Addie Talkington Everroad. He married Ruth M. Lay Everroad in Columbus on April 15, 1944.

He was employed for over 45 years at Cosco as a tool and model maker. He attended First Christian Church and was a lifetime member of Columbus Moose, Columbus American Legion Post and Car-penters Union.

Mr. Everroad served in the U.S. Army in Patton's Third Army at the Battle of the Bulge.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Mr. Everroad is survived by a son, Gary (Brenda) Everroad of Columbus; a daughter, Barbara (Larry) Day of Newaygo, Mich.; grandchildren, Patrick, Adam, Denise, Don, Darrin, David Jr. and Daryl; and several great and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, on Dec. 27, 2008; a daughter, Donna Jones; grand-sons, Ian Everroad and Brad Day; and three brothers.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street with the Rev. Connie Barr officiating. Calling will be from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery with military graveside rites by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.
