Mrs. Singleton, 88, died Friday, Feb. 2, 1996, in Memphis. Born in Paris, Tenn. March 27, 1909, she was the daughter of Cecil and Sallie Burton who preceded her in death in the 1950's.
She, and her husband Larry, were both born in and raised in Henry County. They had operated a grocery store, and lived in West Memphis, Arkansas, for many years.
She leaves a sister Myrtice Nichols, of Paris, Tenn; a brother Elbert Burton of West Memphis, Arkansas; a grandaughter Jackie Watkins of Memphis; and a son-in-law, Jack Pentz of Memphis.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Larry Singleton, a daughter, Ethela Pentz Of Memphis, and two sisters, Louisa Fitzpatrick of Cleveland, Ohio, and Lottie Taylor of Paris, Tenn.
