MCGAULEY, JOAN - Age 78, of Gilletts Lake, passed away August 17, 2010, at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility. She is survived by three children, John 'Bud' (Judy) McGauley, Jim (Diana) McGauley and Joe (Kelly, 'Kay') McGauley; eight grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; two brothers, William (Alicia) Hughes and Freeman (Geneva) Hughes; sister, Maggie (Carl) Hayes; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James 'Jr.' McGauley; daughter, Rebecca Ambur-gey; and two brothers, Ernest 'Butch' Hughes and Philemon 'Toot' Hughes. For many years she worked as an aide at Cedar Knoll Rest Home where she was known to the residents and staff as 'Ma Jo'. She was a dedicated member of her faith at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3019 Morrell Street, serving as a Missionary, as meeting house Librarian, attending the Temple in Chicago and Detroit, and where services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. with Bishop Jerry Larsen officiating. Interment Fitchburg Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Contributions in her memory are directed to the Church. www.mlive.com/obits
