"APPLETON - Edward A. Abel, 86, of 122 S. Monroe St., died Saturday afternoon. Born in the Town of Grover, Marinette County, on March 27, 1891, Mr. Abel had been a resident of Appleton since 1922. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a carpenter with Hoffman Construction Co. Mr. Abel was a member of the Appleton Masonic Lodge, Carpenters Union and the Memorial Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of World War I. He is survived by his widow, Grace; three daughters, including Mrs. Armin (Edwarda) Schroeder, Neenah; two brothers, two sisters, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The Rev. Clifford Pierson officiated at funeral services at 2 p.m. today at the Wichmann Funeral Home, interment was in Highland Memorial Park."
