Graduated from Yale College, Class of 1828

Graduate of Theological Seminary of the Protestant Episcopal Church (Virginia), Class of 1831

Appointed Chaplain, U.S. Navy, 1841 aboard the U.S. Frigate Columbia; which he published two books:
"The Flag Ship" about his voyage around the world.
"The Broad Pennant" about cruising in the Gulf of Mexico during the Mexican War, 1848

Married Miss Sarah Easton Ladd in 1841; with whom he had a daughter: Saraen

Rev. Fitch Waterman Taylor departed this life on July 24th 1865 in Brooklyn in the 61st year of his age.
