Madison - Services for Ruben H. Zessin, 90, Madison, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church here. The Rev. Calvin L'Heureux will officiate with burial in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Madison. Visitation will be Sunday 3-8 p.m. at the Resseguie Funeral Home in Madison.
He died Friday, Sept 12, 2003, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.
The son of William and Mathilda (White) Zessin was born April 2, 1913. He was baptized on April 21, 1913, at St. John Lutheran Church-Green Garden and attended school there. He married Barbara Hoesly on Feb. 16, 1939, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Creston. The couple farmed near Madison before moving into Madison in 1970. He then worked in Columbus.
Mr. Zessin was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison.
Survivors include his wife of Madison; one son, Duane of Madison; one brother, Willard Zessin of Madison; one sister, Milda Oschner of Madison; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law.
