Daniel W Morgan perished in the Gaylord Mine Disaster, on February 13, 1894. Thirteen miners perished during a massive cave in at the Gaylord Mine in Plymouth, Pa. Daniel was Welsh, he was a widower and had seven children.

His final resting place is a shady hillside of Plymouth's Shawnee Cemetery, at plot 551. Also buried at the Shawnee are fellow Gaylord Mine Disaster Victims; John Morris, Thomas Cole, Thomas Leyshon, Thomas Merriman and Thomas Picton.
