Evelyn Mullican Tidwell

Mrs. Evelyn Mullican Tidwell, 84, of Athens passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born February 6, 1926, in Morgan County to William "Bill" Jasper Mullican and Ola Beatrice Rose Mullican.

The visitation will be Saturday from noon until 1:45 p.m. at Limestone Chapel with graveside service following at 2 p.m. at Limestone Memorial Gardens. Arvid McGuire will officiate.

Mrs. Tidwell was a member of Eastside Church of Christ and a retired owner and operator of Calvin's Cleaners. She also was an avid card player. She was preceded in death by her parents; two great-grandsons, William Clay Swinea and Benjamin Tyler Swinea; one sister, Ozella Woodall; and one brother, Billy Ray Mullican.

Survivors are her husband, Calvin Tidwell; two daughters, Bobbie Baugh (Edward) and Susan Tidwell Cotter, both of Athens; two grandchildren, Amy Swinea (Tyler) of Florence and Sherry Ezell (Ken) of Leoma, Tenn.; four great-grandchildren, Thomas Swinea, Holly Ezell, Seth Swinea and Cameron Ezell; three sisters, Maureen Roberts, Myrtle Chenault and Inez Pace, all of Decatur; two brothers, John Thomas Mullican and Jack Mullican, both of Decatur; one sister-in-law, Pat Mullican of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be great-grandsons and nephews.
