O. C. "Bud" Buddenhagen, 97, a lifelong resident of Parsons, died at 6:30 a.m., Friday, August 27, 2010, at Elmhaven East Nursing Home in Parsons.

He was born September 21, 1912, in Parsons, Kansas to Edward and Tonie I. (Bocha) Buddenhagen. He grew up and attended school in Parsons. From 1945-1973, he was owner and operator of the former B & R Tire Service on North Central in Parsons. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Parsons. Following his retirement, he enjoyed golfing and going to casinos.

He and Veva Marion Pace were married March 12, 1938, in Independence, Kansas. She preceded him in death July 13, 1997.

Survivors include: One Son – Ron Buddenhagen and wife, Glenda Parsons, KS Five Grandchildren – Mark Johnston and wife, Jodi Parsons, KS Kelley Hurst and husband, Phillip Parsons, KS Shawn Johnston and wife, Kayla Parsons, KS Kerri Beardmore and husband, Gerald Parsons, KS Brent Johnston and wife, Julie Parsons, KS Six Great-Grandchildren

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, a daughter, Marilyn Johnston; and son-in-law, Herman Johnston.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 30, 2010, at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons. Friends may call from 1-6:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.

Memorials are suggested to Labette Health Auxiliary. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
