Aged 77 years 3 months 1 day. Died in Hannibal, MO. According to his death certificate, he was a carpenter and son of William H. Fowkes and Mary Riddel Fowkes. His wife was Sarah Elizabeth Fowkes. Member ##47565371 states first wife was Lucy Bloxom.

George W. Fowkes, 77, a resident of this city for 65 years, died Monday afternoon at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. H. H. Colley, Hannibal, Mo. Mr. Fowkes, who was a carpenter by trade, lived at North Seventh street in this city until several months ago.

Surviving are his wife, Sarah; two daughters, Mrs. H. H. Colley and Miss Maudie Fowkes, Hannibal, Mo.; two sons, H. L. and E. F. Fowkes, Chicago; one brother, W. D. Fowkes, of Springfield; and two sisters, Mrs. Sarah A. Bedell of Springfield, and Mrs. Lou Green, living in Maryland. Seven grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.

Genealogy record has marriage to Lucy Ellen Bloxam on 28 Mar 1872 with a note that says: "Recorded in Book F-20 by D. Wise, Man of God.
