Harry L. Bailey

Oakville - Harry Lee Bailey, 80, Oakville, died Thursday in Veterans hospital, Iowa City. He was born May 14, 1889, in Louisa County, the son of John and Anzaleta Racer Bailey.

Mr. Bailey married Mae Peck on Sept. 13, 1955. He was a World War I veteran, a 50-year member of the American Legion Post 489, Oakville, and a member of the Wapello Masonic lodge No. 105.

Surviving: The wife; a step-son, Merlin Peck, Bloomington, Ill.; five sisters, Mrs. Milo Baxter, Midvale, Utah, Mrs. Ralph Meader, Burlington, Mrs. Blanche Wicall, Bloomington, Ill., Mrs. Verdie Sheridan, Moline, Ill., Mrs. Ruby Stewart, Cedar Rapids; and one grandchild.

Services: Sunday, 2 p.m., at Dudgeon-McCulley funeral home, Wapello, Rev. Sam Bowser; Edwards Cemetery, near Oakville. Masonic services will be held at the funeral home Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
