Wife of Cyrus Stebbins (1805-1838)
Obituary: Obit #1, 13 Jan 1887 Thurs. Columbian Republican, Hudson, NY.

THE LATE MRS. STEBBINS - The Albany Press says; Many of our citizens will learn with regret of the recent death of Mrs. Sarah Stebbins mother of the late Mrs. William S (Sarah) Preston and formerly well known member of the Cathedral parish here. Mrs. Stebbins was the widow of the late Cyrus Mark Stebbins of New York. She was born in Hudson, but soon after her marriage moved to New York City, where her husband died, leaving her with one daughter. She was a strong Episcopalian and a member of St. Luke's Church, but was received into the Catholic Church by Rev. Dr. Forbes, soon after his ordination into the priesthood. She was in every respect a most estimable lady, and during her residence here was justly a favorite with all who knew her. Her funeral took place from the residence of her grandson, Thomas B. Preston in Brooklyn. She was borne to the church of Our Lady of Victory, where Rev. Father Brosnan read the funeral service and made some very supportive remarks. She was buried in Green-Wood Cemetery (Brooklyn). - by WGP
