Mrs. Mary E. Thayer, widow of William P. Thayer, pioneer resident of this city, died at 7 o'clock yesterday morning at her home, South Seventh street. She had been in ill health for some time. Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at E. P. Metcalf's funeral chapel. Interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery. Decedent is survived by one son, Harry P. Thayer, Chicago; one sister, Mrs. S. E. Hayes, San Diego, Cal., also several nieces and nephews. IL State Journal, Springfield, IL, 2-8-1929
