Funeral services were held Sunday, October 2 for John Lewis Bloyd 70, who died at the home of his son Gradie Bloyd in Louisville Friday September 30. Services were conducted by Reverend D.L. Druien at the Beach Grove Baptist Church and burial was in the church cemetery. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Miller Bloyd, he was born in Green County December 19, 1878. He united with the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, later moving his membership to Beech Grove Baptist church. In 1904 he married Miss Beulah Nelson and to this union four children were born. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Vanda Simpson and two sons. Gradie and Elmer Bloyd, all of Louisville. Also surviving are 6 brothers, Joe Bloyd, Isaac Bloyd, Jim Bloyd, Arvie Bloyd, Bob Bloyd, and Dave Bloyd all of Green County and two sisters Irene Blevens and Lavellen Wilson both of Ohio, ten grandchildren and one great grandson. Pallbearers were Willis Ford, Colman Ennis, George Upton, Avery Shuffett, Olie Larimore, and Boyce Hudson.
