Robert Wesley Wilson is the son of Nelson Wilson and Margaret Sawyer. (Their names are provided on the death certificate.)

He was born in NC and is a brother to Hilliard, James Alexander, John Welzy, Gather Wylie, Harriet "Hattie" and Sena Wilson. Following his mother's death in 1890, Wesley's father remarried - this time to Lula Victoria Green and they are the parents of Marshall, Ora, Etta Mae, Elsie, Joseph, Hallie and Walter Wilson.

Wesley married Ida Elizabeth Ray and they have three children: Mildred L Wilson, Kermet E Wilson and Ola B Wilson.

Wesley had Huntington's Chorea as did his brother, John Welzy Wilson (buried at Dix Hospital in Raleigh, NC) and their sister, Harriet "Hattie" Wilson Ray (also buried at Broughton Hospital) and Hattie's son Herbert L Ray. Hattie died here in 1921. John Welzy died at Dix in 1923.

Wesley was cared for here for 4 yr 9 mo before his death, having been admitted about 7 months after Hattie's death. Their father would die in 1927 at the age of 75 having lost his wife in 1890 when Sena was only 3 and having watched three of his children (and most likely his first wife as well) die of Huntington's.
