Funeral services for Scott Hoover, 61, of Sachse, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2008, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point. Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.
He passed away early Monday morning, July 28, 2008, at his residence.
Scott was born September 26, 1946, in Bakersfield, California, the son of Gene David Hoover and Juanita Marguerite Farris Hoover. He was raised in California and graduated from Bakersfield High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam War. Scott moved to Texas in 1976. He had been employed by the City of University Park, retiring in July 2005. On September 24, 1993, he married Kathleen Bennight in Dallas. He enjoyed reading, playing poker, watching college football and was interested in astronomy. Scott had lived in Dallas and Garland prior to moving to Sachse five years ago. He was of the Catholic faith.
His parents preceded him in death.
Scott is survived by his wife, Kathleen Hoover, of Sachse; two sons, Alan Wallace, of Sachse and Billy Don Wallace, Jr. & wife, Rebbecca Louise, of North Dallas; two daughters, Teresa Wallace, of Dallas and Jeanetta Adams & husband, Brian, of Garland; brother, Greg Whitten & wife, Apryl, of Grand Prairie; sister, Valerie Apalatea & husband, Ron, of Oakhurst, California; three grandchildren; niece, Jennifer Whitten and special friends, Patricia & Kevin Airel, of Sachse.
