Green-Wood Cemetery

Most burials in this very old lot are not memorialized by any visible or legible stone or inscription. This lot is dominated by a badly eroded obelisk upon which the only legible text consists of the names of Edward Crummey and his wife, Mary. Behind it and stretching to its right are 4 small stones, the first 3 of which are completely illegible. The phrase "Children of Edward & Mary Cru____" can be discerned on the fourth of these stones. Since the stones appear to be of matching, they can be presumed to memorialize members of the Edward Crummey family. The only completely legible monument, at the far right, is inscribed:

Marianna Parkhill
Born May 25, 1854,
Died April 18, 1875.
