Obituary of Joyce Dunavin
DeMotte, IN - Ellen Joyce Dunavin (nee Boyd), age 70, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010, at Southlake Methodist Hospital in Merrillville, IN.
Many knew her while she grew up in Paragould, AR as "Joyce Boyd" or after her marriage as "Joyce Dunavin". She attended school in Paragould, AR.
She was born September 8, 1940 at Bard in Greene County, Arkansas to Ernest Boyd and Magdalene Miles Boyd. She lived in the Northwest Indiana area for the last 30 years and was formerly of Monette and Paragould, AR.
Mrs. Dunavin loved reading, enjoyed puzzles, needlepoint, crochet, secret recipe's, writing to pen-pals and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Jeff W Dunavin of Lake Village, IN and two son's; Mark (Brenda) Dunavin of Paragould, AR; and William Dunavin; 4 grand-daughters: KaSandra (Tom) Haynes of Gainesville, FL, Keisha Dunavin of Paragould, Ashley & Hannah Dunavin of Shepherdsville, KY; two sisters: Edra Lois Kucher of Davison, MI and Edna Louise Nelson of Crown Point, IN; Step-brother, Ed Wilkinson of Delaplaine, AR; as well as many sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents and one son, Timothy Wayne Dunavin.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Rev. Arthur Phelps officiating.
Family and friends will gather from 1:00 until time of service at the Gregg Funeral Home in Monette.
