5th child and 3rd oldest son born to Seaborn M. and Sidney S. (Burdette) Denson. He was a farmer by occupation. According to the 1900 US Census, he lived at Dismal in Winston County AL; the 1910 Census shows him living at Pine Knot in Cleburne County AL. He married Ida Griggs on 12 April 1903 in Cullman County AL. There were at least 8 children born to this union; Bernice (Denson) Rippey (1906-1930), James Herman Denson (born 1908), Earnest Denson (1910-1940), D. (female, born 1912, possibly Pernie Denson), Lucille Denson (born 1914), Roy Denson (born 1915), Lee (or Leo) Denson (1918-1979), and Troy Denson (birthdate unknown, died as an infant). The 1920 Census shows him residing in Lawrence County TN and the 1930 Census shows him residing back in Winston County AL. After his first wife died, he married Ruby Isalee (Kanady) Chandler on June 26, 1924 in Lawrence County, TN and there were four children born to this union: Marjean Denson Oakley (1925-1988), Harold Othel Denson (1927-2007), Reba Lee Denson (1929-2007), and Ilean Cleara (Denson) Hughes (1936-1994). Sometime after 1930 he moved back to Lawrence County TN.
