Daughter of Levi Phillips and Juliann (Jones) Denson. She married Kinchen Windham Wheeler (born 1848 in Cedartown GA; died 1942 in Prentiss County MS) on 3 January 1875 in Cleburne County AL. There were six children born of this union: James Allan, Olander Watson, Benjamin Phillip, Joseph Virgil, Rosia Lee, and Thomas Pickford Wheeler. She was a sister to Seaborn McDaniel and Thomas Jackson Denson, who were both instrumental in the resurgence of Sacred Harp (fa-sol-la) singing throughout Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee in the early 1900s.
