Ray E. (Gene) Ewing, 43, of 707 Walker Street, died Wednesday night at Wabash General Hospital in Mt. Carmel.
Mr. Ewing became ill while at work at Champion Laboratories and was taken to the Mt. Carmel Hospital for treatment.

Rites are pending at Nale’s Funeral Home.
He was born May 28, 1949, the son of James and Daisy Fryman Ewing.
Mr. Ewing was married to the former Beverly Keener.
He was a Vietnam veteran.
The survivors
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Brandy Jean Ewing of Kankakee; his mother, Daisy Ewing of Ellery; one brother, Jim Ewing of Wisconsin; and one sister, Linda Farley of Washington.
