William Doyle was born in Wigtownshire, Scotland to John and Elizabeth Doyle. The family went to Canada and when Williams older brother, James H. He died in Canola Creek, Dunlap Co., Kansas and brought home to Americus to be buried. William kept the original spelling of the family name. His parents were buried in Aineyville, Huron, Ontario, Canada which is named Brussels now.

William's parents were John and Elizabeth Doyle. They are buried in Ainleyville, Huron, Ontario, Canada in what is now the Brussels Cemetery. William and Sarah also had 3 children born and died in Ainleyville and buried in that cemetery.

His brother James H. Doile came to USA first and served in the Civil War at Ft. Riley, Kansas. Died in Emporia, Lyon Co., Kansas. James H, Doile FAG #57492003. These brothers remained close their whole lives.

Their first child, Leslie died at birth and William's obituary states he too was to be buried at Maplewood Cemetery in Emporia, but at the last minute he was buried at Fruitland in Americus.

I went to Kansas every summer to be with my Grandmother from Arizona. She was married to Printiss Irving Doile, son of James H. Doile. James came to Kansas in the early 1850's and his brother William followed him after he and his wife buried 2 children in Aineryville, Canada. They needed a new start. I did the math and determined it was just at the start of the Civil War. James had already signed up with the Union and William took care of the two families. Every summer I went to stay with my Grandmother and she spent the summer "visiting" the graves of the relatives, hers and his. There in Fruitland Cemetery, my mother also discovered her Yeakley family. So it became a favorite to take a lunch and make it a whole day.
