MARBLEHEAD -- Frank B. Bartlett, 87, of 15 Guernesy St., died Monday after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Sarah D. (Allen) Bartlett and was formerly married to the late Ruth (Batchelder) Bartlett.

He was born in Marblehead, son of the late Herbert and Ada (Ingalls) Bartlett and was a lifelong resident here.

Mr. Bartlett was an engineer for the New England Telephone Company for 35 years, retiring in 1960.

He was a Navy veteran of World War I and was a graduate of Marblehead High School. He attended Wentworth Institute in Boston.

He was a member of Philanthropic Lodge, AF & FM [sic?] for more than 62 years. He was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Marblehead Lodge of Odd Fellows and Marblehead Post American Legion.

In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Walter F. Bartlett of Seabrook, N.H. and Sumner B. Bartlett of Marblehead; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Jean Miller of Amherst; two sisters, Mary C. Bartlett and Rebecca W. Bartlett, both of Marblehead; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Private funeral services will be held Wednesday, with the Rev. Charles F. Hood of the Old North Church, Marblehead officiating.
