Rosary was said May 20 at Tabor Rice Funeral Home with Funeral Services on May 21 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, both in Brighton. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, close to his parents. He was preceeded by both parents, Charlie and Jovita Sauceda.
Ramon had lived in South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota prior to returning to Brighton to be close to his immediate family. He worked most of his life driving trucks and working maintenance. His passion was for gardening during the summer and crossword puzzles the rest of the time.
Ramon met Colleen Rivers in Sioux City, IA, where they were married on March 20, 1997. Ramon had five children prior to marrying Colleen and she also had five children, which he raised as his own. Ramon's children: Kim (Jeff) Dean, Omaha; Lisa (Dave) Rivera, Brighton; Danny Sauceda, Brighton; Laurie (Penner) Mendias, Brighton; and Charlie Sauceda, Brighton. Colleen's children: Cecelia Jewett, Las Vegas, NV; Sarah Perez, Sioux Falls, SD; Francis Paul Jewett II, Cedar Rapids, IA; Margaret Lu, Cedar Rapids, IA; and Joey Jewett, Brookings, SD. They had 29 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He also had ten brothers and sisters: Josie Brown, Connie Sauceda, Pete Sauceda, Charlie Sauceda, Cano Sauceda, Francis Sauceda, Lalo Sauceda, Guadalupe Sauceda, Joe Sauceda, Maria Sauceda.
Pallbearers were Jerry Voss, Julian Sauceda, LeRoy Sauceda, Frankie Vasquez, Penner Mendias, Dennis Mueller, Dave Rivera and Jeff Dean. Tabor-Rice Funeral Home handled arrangements.
