The parents of Danny were living in Waterloo when Danny was born and they later moved to Whittier, California.
Danny enlisted in the Marines 27 August 1965, at a Los Angeles Recruiting Office to serve in the
Marine Reserves. After boot camp and infantry training, he went on extended active duty. Arriving in Vietnam Danny was assigned to Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. Danny died as a result of fragmentation wounds to the body from a hostile mortar round when hostile forces engaged Delta Company, 4 kilometers northeast of Con Thien (Hill 158), during Operation Prairie.
Tour of duty unknown.
Survived by his parents, William J and Doris M Rundle of 8620 Damby Avenue, Whittier, California.
