Jeanne Hickman King, 77, of Pixler Hill Road, Morgantown, formerly of Mount Morris, Pa., died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, at her daughter's home in Westover.

She was born Oct. 15, 1923, in Mount Morris, daughter of the late Relph E. and Ruth Fitzgerald Hickman.

She was a homemaker and was retired from the Monongalia County Tax Office. She was formerly employed by the West Virginia Tuberculosis Association. She was a longtime member of the Mount Morris Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary in Mount Morris, the Mount Morris Thimble Club, and was formerly the Mount Morris area correspondent for The Dominion Post.

She is survived by her second husband, Paul M. King; a son and spouse, Richard E. "Rick" and Ruth Ann King, of Hurricane; two daughters and spouse, Sharon and Kerry Slinde, of Westover, and Karen Johnson, of Mount Morris; a sister, Hilda O'Brien, of Washington, Pa.; a stepson, Charles King, of Ossipee, N. H.; a stepdaughter, Ada Fletcher, of Newport, N. H.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Paul I. King, and a son, Scott King.
