KILLED AT SPENCER. Spencer,N.Y., Sept. 16. —Thomas Ferris, employed by Contractor H.O. Hanson on the new school building here, slid from the roof of the building on Wednesday and was killed. Af ellow workman was dashed to the ground and severely injured at the same time. Ferris lived in Waverly,and is survived by a little boy fiveyears old. His wife died a few weeks ago. SPENCER MAN KILLED. Thomas Ferris Fell From Scaffold WhileWorking on Schoolhouse. While at work on a scaffold on topof the school building in SpencerThomas Ferris, a well known residentof that village, fell to the ground belowand was almost instantly killedyesterday. With W. W. Packmyre,Ferris was a work on the belfry ofthe schoolhouse. The scaffold brokeand both men went to the roof of thebuilding, thirty feet below. Packmyresecured a hold on the roof and heldhimself, but Ferris rolled to the edgeand fell thirty feet more to the ground,where he was found unconscious. Helived but a short time. Mr. Ferris wasfortyfive years old and a former residentof Waverly. He is survived byhis daughter and his father AndrewFerris both of Spencer.
