Agnes Kircher Dies at 79
Agnes Kircher, the 1966 Outstanding Senior Citizen of Marin County, died yesterday in a local hospital after a short illness. She was 79.
A 76-year Marin resident, Mrs. Kircher was the wife of the late Charles Kircher, a ferryboat pilot for the Northwestern Pacific Railroad in pre-bridge days. She was a native of Lakeville, Sonoma County.
Mrs. Kircher served on the Tiburon Sanitary District board, the juvenile probation committee and the citizens advisory committee for planning. She was a member of Y.L.I. Star of the Sea, Sausalito, the Belvedere-Tiburon Landmark Society, st. Hilary's Church Guild, Tiburon, and the Redwood Shade Garden Club of Tiburon.
At 75, Mrs. Kircher was manager of the Village Salvage Shop in Tiburon.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Mary King of San Rafael; Sister M. Bertha, O.P., of Dominican College; Mrs. Barbara Hughes of San Rafael, and Kathryn Pratt of Seattle, Wash.; four sons, Charles A. Kircher of San Diego, Thomas B. Kircher of San Rafael, John L. Kircher of Albuquerque, N.M. and Philip James Kircher of Bodega Bay, and 18 grandchildren.
Rosary services will be recited tomorrow at the Keaton Chapel in San Rafael at 8 p.m. Funeral will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Hilary's Church in Tiburon. A funeral procession will leave Keaton's at 9 a.m. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
