Maxine DeMoss Durdan, a lifelong Corvallis resident, died Wednesday. She was 87.
The daughter of Raymond and Mary DeMoss, she was born August 6, 1923, in Corvallis where she attended public schools and graduated from Oregon State University in 1945.
On August 22, 1946, she was married to Donald E. Durdan in Corvallis. A licensed funeral director, Mrs. Durdan assisted her husband in their business from 1948 until she retired. Mr. Durdan died in 1971.
She was a member of St. Mary's Chapter No. 9, OES; a charter member of the Corvallis Assistance League and Corvallis Altrusa Club. She enjoyed volunteering for various organizations such as the March of Dimes, Benton County Elections, and Good Samaritan Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter, Luanne "Sugar" Durdan, and her husband, James Hauck of Lake Oswego; son Steven Durdan of Philomath, sisters Claranell Hardenburger and husband Robert of Corvallis, and Grace Zwahlen of Coto de Caza, Calif.; grandchildren Kellie Beck of Lake Oswego, Jayson Beck of Salem, and Kristin Beck Williams and husband Brian of Clackamas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Susan Price and RaeArdis Greenough.

At her request a private family service will be held.
The family wishes to thank the many wonderful caregivers.
