Memorial service for Justin Rezak, age 22, a lifelong resident of Mentor, held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Brunner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
He was born Nov. 8, 1985, in Painesville, and had been a lifelong Mentor resident. On Sunday, March 23, 2008, about a year after his sister Meredith committed suicide due to bullying from schoolmates, Justin also shot and killed himself out of depression.
Justin worked at Competitive Carbide in Mentor as a machinist for the past six years. He loved working on motorcycles and cars.
Survivors are his mother, Nancy Rezak (fiance, Tim Merritt) of Mentor; father Joe (Monika) Rezak of Mentor; brother, Matthew Rezak of Painesville; grandparents, Edith Freeman of Mentor, and Mary Rezak of Mentor-on-the-Lake; aunts, Kathy Wallace of Mentor, Chris Burchell of Perry, and Tracey Rezak of Mentor; and uncle, Randy Freeman of Mentor. He was preceded in death by brother, Nathan Rezak; sister Meredith Rezak; grandfathers, Jack Freeman, and Joseph Rezak Sr.; aunt, Karen Rezak; and uncle Jim Burchell. Inurnment was in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
