Historian. She wrote about the history of the western United States. Her early years were spent writing poetry and "dime novels", and taking care of family members. In 1864 Frances Fuller-Victor and her second husband settled in Oregon. From 1878 - 1890 she worked for Hubert Bancroft, and much of her work was published in his 28 volume "History of the Pacific States". Bancroft claimed authorship for the entire work, however, the histories of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Nevada and many other States were actually authored by Frances Fuller-Victor. In 1890 she retired from Bancroft, but continued to write and be published until 1900.
