"My father's name was John Crockett. He was by profession a farmer and spent the early part of his life in the state of Pennsylvania".
"My father was in the Revolutionary War, and I have learned that he took part in that bloody struggle. He fought, according to my information, in the battle at Kings Mountain against the British and Tories, and in some other engagements of which my remembrance is too imperfect to enable me to speak with any certainty. My father lived in Lincoln County in the state of North Carolina. How long, I don't know. But when he removed from there, he settled in that district of country which is now embraced in the east division of Tennessee, though it was not then erected into a state".

The Crockett's were of mostly French-Huguenot ancestry, although the family had settled in Ireland before migrating to the Americas.[7] The earliest known paternal ancestor was Gabriel Gustave de Crocketagne, whose son Antoine de Saussure Peronette de Crocketagne was given a commission in the Household Troops under French King Louis XIV. Antoine married Louise de Saix and immigrated to Ireland with her, changing the family name to Crockett.[8]
Contributor: Charlotte Ann Price (47625664) Despite many claiming the birth in Washington County Tennessee, it was in Watauga. This area was illegally leased to the settlers by Attakullakulla and later stolen in the illegal Treaty of Sycamore Shoals (March 1775) by the Transylvania Company in open violation of the Proclamation of 1763. Later called the Washington District of North Carolina and the Washington District of the old Southwest Territory and the Washington District of the State of Franklin, this area became Washington County Tennessee in 1796. So birth was on Cherokee land in 1759. Stating his birth was in Tennessee is subjective, biased and discrimination against the Cherokee Nation. Findagrave.com does not honor the many nations that existed. One should be able to use "Watauga, Cherokee Nation" and its very subjective to eliminate the Indigenous Nations that existed. The marriage occurred in Watauga as well.
