Late in life he married Mary (Whitehead) Hummel on July 30, 1956. She was the daughter of Joseph Whitehead and his wife Grace Jones. This Grace Jones is said to be a sister to Hiland Jones--Elsie Jones' father. Elsie married Henry "Harry" Donnelly Warner, who was the son of Charles-7 Calvin Warner.
